What Took You So Long?

When he wakes up in the morning, he thinks about writing. He wanted to be an writer or a casual blogger since he can remember and now he's a college graduate doing freelance work. "It's the only thing I've ever wanted to do," he says.

But he needs a cup of coffee. and some crackers. Now he's ready. he rolls his shoulders, cracks his neck, and looks at the clean empty screen on his Microsoft Word program. And because he's working on what he should write, he wouldn't have any other time to watch movies with his friends. So he loads new music into his iPod, changes into casual clothes, and goes to see his friends for some coffee.

When he returns, he showers. and he gets dressed. And he is again ready. "New word document". "First blog entry". But he hasn't checked the news today.

He checks online. And finds an interesting story to read. He logs onto Facebook and Twitter and sends the story to his friends. It'll only take a minute.

It's been over a day since he's been on his social media sites and there are messages from his friends. He quickly responds. And updates his profile. And looks at the time on his cell phone. And remembers that he has to meet his friend for lunch in half an hour. he changes, again, and goes to lunch.

When he returns to continue with his "First blog post", a few hours later, he's tired. So he walks to the bakery for some pastries. While walking, he thinks about the designing he'll soon be doing for his blog page. "Total focus," he whispers. "Come on,total focus."

He's back home and ready. First Blog Post. "Welcome to my nth blog, people of the world..." But... "fuck"... "no"... just one more thing.

And another thing. And on and on...

Until the day is over and he's ready to fall asleep. But he can't sleep. Because he is sad. He knows what he wants and he knows what he has to do to get it. But he just can't do it.

"Tomorrow will be different, better," he mutters aloud. But he doesn't believe it. Because he says it every night. And nothing changes.

Fast forward a couple of months being haunted by this idea that obviously wants to scream into physical form.. he ends up with this as his first blog entry.

Hello readers. I'm back. :)

  1. Aww, no updates. I like your writing style, reminds me of a time when I used to write to express something. But I think your Bosconian post is gaining popularity. Saw it on facebook :)
